Beneficiary Designations

Not everyone wants to commit to making a gift in their wills or estates. Some prefer the increased flexibility that a beneficiary designation provides by using such assets as IRAs and retirement plans.

It only takes four simple steps to make this type of gift. Here’s how to name CrossOver Healthcare Ministry as a beneficiary:

1. Contact your retirement plan administrator, bank or financial institution for a change-of-beneficiary form. Or, to expedite the change, you may go directly to your custodian’s website to make the change and add CrossOver Healthcare Ministry as a beneficiary.
2. Decide what percentage (1 to 100) you would like us to receive and name us, along with the percentage you chose, on the beneficiary form.
3. Return the completed form to your plan administrator, bank or financial institution.

Pharmacy Donations (including medications, samples, or diabetic supplies): We can only accept sealed manufacturer donations; items in pharmacy containers cannot be accepted. Sealed manufacturer donations may be donated at the Henrico Clinic only. We are unable to accept anything that is open or expired even if it is in the original manufacturer’s bottle. Please email pharmacy donation questions to Amiyah Newsome, medications program manager, at anewsome@crossoverministry.org. Consider donating medications to sirum.org.

Clinic Supplies (not including medications): At this time, we can only accept in-kind donations for the following items:

• Surgical masks (no N95 masks please)
• Latex-free gloves (especially small and medium)
• Lysol spray
• Disinfectant wipes
• Alcohol wipes
• Band-Aids
• Butterfly needles

Please email details of your clinic supply donation to Kaitlyn Patterson, our nurse manager, at kpatterson@crossoverministry.org prior to making a donation. If CrossOver is able to accept your items, you will be notified. Consider donating other types of medical supplies to medshare.org.

Mobility Equipment: We are unable to accept mobility equipment due to limited storage space. Consider donating mobility equipment to the FREE Foundation at 804-920-9828.

CPAP and BPAP Equipment: We are unable to accept CPAP and BPAP equipment. Consider donating your gently used equipment to the Pulmonary Associates of Richmond Sleep Disorders Center at (804) 320-4243.

Baby Items: We can almost always use donations for new parents such as, diapers, and baby wipes, however, we are unable to accept car seats. To donate items to our OB program, please contact our social work department at 804-655-2794, ext. 106.

Take advantage of a simple way to benefit CrossOver Healthcare Ministry and receive tax benefits in return. If you are 70½ years old or older, you can give up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to CrossOver.

This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution or QCD for short.
