Frequently Asked Questions
I have Medicaid. What’s the process of becoming a patient at CrossOver?
Fill out the New Patient Registration Form so that we can verify your Medicaid enrollment and set you up in our system. One of our team members will call you within 1-2 business days to set up your New Medicaid Patient Appointment! Or give us a call at 804-655-2794.
I have Medicare or Emergency Medicaid. Can I come to CrossOver?
No, CrossOver can only accept full-coverage Medicaid. CrossOver cannot accept patients who are enrolled in both Medicaid and Medicare.
What can I expect at my first appointment?
You’ll arrive at the clinic 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time and check in with our front desk team, who will provide you with any remaining forms required. Then, our nursing team will take you back to our exam rooms and take your vitals and medical history.
Most New Medicaid Patient Appointments are set up as full physical appointments, so there will be adequate time for your doctor or nurse practitioner to get to know you and your health history. If your situation is particularly complex, we may schedule a follow-up appointment in order to provide adequate time to address your concerns.
We’ll ask for your list of current medications and discuss your health concerns. Your doctor will provide you with any prescriptions or referrals you may need and we’ll schedule any follow-up appointments needed.
You can expect friendly faces from our staff, and professional, relational care from your doctor. 98% of CrossOver patients would recommend our clinics to their friends and family, so you’ll be in good hands!
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please be sure to bring your ID and insurance card, as well as a list of your current medications (including dosage).
What if I just need dental care?
In order to access dental care at CrossOver, you must be established as a patient in our medical clinic. This allows our medical care team to coordinate your oral health care with our dental clinic team. Get started on getting established as a patient by filling out the New Patient Registration Form or calling 804-655-2794.
Dental care for patients enrolled in Medicaid includes routine dental hygiene for kids and adults, diagnostic care and x-rays, routine extractions, fillings and restorative care, and partial dentures with some Medicaid plans.
Can I get a Same-Day Appointment?
Yes! CrossOver reserves a number of same-day appointments for established patients each day. However, New Patient Appointments cannot be scheduled same-day. We strongly suggest you complete the New Patient Appointment for you and your family members before you need same-day care. Get started by filling out the New Patient Registration Form or calling 804-655-2794.
